Learn more about the commission process below. Please keep in mind that all the below prices are my initial quotes and may vary depending on the specifications of the request. Please contact me for a more specific quote and details depending on what it is you are looking for exactly.
Some Birdhouse Residents are also available for commissions upon request.
The Commission Process
Size
The first thing that needs to be decided for your piece. At this time I am only accepting commissions 11" x 15" and larger. The best size paper for your custom project can be a tricky thing to decide. If you are unsure the perfect size for your space, I’m happy to help you decide.
Inspiration
It can help for me to see your space to get a feel for the surrounding atmosphere (wall colour, fabric swatches, light, overall mood, etc.)I appreciate any inspiration you can provide - what particular paintings/style of mine you favour, any photographs/stories/memories you would like me to work from, Pinterest boards, colour palettes, etc. The more insight you can give me to work from, the better!
Sketch
I start with a few digital sketch options for your piece, to give you an idea of what I had in mind and make sure we are on the same page. Once I have your approval, I will move on to the digital flat colour sketches so we can decide on the basic colours together. After all of this the ink and watercolour painting begins. At this point, I typically allow for approximately 10-12 weeks for completion of each piece (and slightly longer during the holiday season.)
Price
My prices for commissioned pieces start at just under $200, and run about 15% more than ready-to-ship paintings. This is to account for the time spent putting together a cohesive piece that meets all of your wishes. I ask for a 50% deposit to begin, with the remaining balance, plus shipping, due once your painting is complete.
