Story

The legend of the Three Sisters seems to exist in almost every indigenous tribe. This version is told by the Haudenosaunee.

The eldest sister stood tall and straight, and her body bent with the wind. She had long yellow hair and wore a green shawl. This sister was corn. Along with her sisters Squash and Beans, Corn make up the three main agricultural crops of various indigenous groups in North America.

Details

Corn is a 5.5”x7.5” hand painted watercolour and coloured inks painting. Paper is 100% cotton, natural white, cold press watercolour paper with a deckled edge. Line art is done with watercolour and coloured ink. Iridescent details are done with acrylic ink..
