Story

The legend of the Three Sisters seems to exist in almost every indigenous tribe. This version is told by the Haudenosaunee.

The youngest of the three sisters was so small she could not yet walk, she crawled along the ground, dressed in green. This sister was squash. Along with her sisters Corn and Beans, Squash make up the three main agricultural crops of various indigenous groups in North America.

Details

Squash is a 5.5”x7.5” hand painted watercolour and coloured inks painting. Paper is 100% cotton, natural white, cold press watercolour paper with a deckled edge. Line art is done with watercolour and coloured ink. Iridescent details are done with acrylic ink.
